"Even earlier than inputting the actual arrangement into notation software (messing around with ideas on a physical notebook), I decided to have my arrangement quote Pinocchio's ""When You Wish Upon a Star"" as a nod to Disney. While doing this, I accidentally realized that the melodic intervals in the middle section of the original Blast Away! track are the same as section of fan favorite ""Simple and Clean,"" the only other Kingdom Hearts track I was really familiar with prior to working on this (Sorry to say I'm not that familiar with Kingdom Hearts music and never got to play any of the games). Of course, I had to quote that too. In this arrangement, I decided to not make many changes to pitches and rhythms of the melody of the original composition, seeing its simplicity as strong point that would allow for a lot of space to exercise creative freedom elsewhere. Instead, I opted to let textural changes from section to section do the ""talking."" I knew early on that I'd want to begin with some kind of light orchestral instrumentation and simple texture--you know, to just keep things simple (and clean). Then, I had instrument sections sort of take turns taking up more attention with more involved syncopation/driving rhythm patterns (Brass and piano), higher note density (Violin and Bass fills), or just straight up louder dynamics."

This album is a masterpiece if you're a Zelda fan. The instrumentation is rich. I'm really feeling the presence of the kingdom of Hyrule while listening to it. Qu4k3r
